El Calafate, Argenitna

OK so we have finally managed to arrive in ARGENTINA… the country that gave us such a hard time while trying to come here. Our first stop was El Calafate where the highlight was of course famous Perito Moreno Glacier. We have heard that Argentina is expensive in terms of accommodation, buses etc. but we got lucky and for the first time got to enjoy free accommodation that the community from Couch Surfing provides. I have hosted many people in New Zealand but never actually used it myself. The lady we stayed with was crazy in a positive way that lived on the far outskirts of El Calafate with her daughter and 5 dogs. We got to share a cabin with a guy from Buenos Aires and another American fella.

Analia made us amazing ‘mama’s pizza’ and we spent a lovely evening drinking yummy Argentinian wine. This night will go down in the history books as it was the night when Bryan started to enjoy red wine, wooohooooo!!!
And of course The Glacier Perito Moreno was breath taking, especially hearing it cracking and breaking which actually at the same time was rather sad seeing this beauty slowly disappearing.
