Capuranga, Day 1
Next morning
at 6 am Bryan went to the ferry terminal to get the tickets for the boat to
Capuranga as there is limited space on the boat. The trip was scheduled at 8:30
but of course there was a long delay. When I think about this 3 hour trip
through the Golfo de Uruaba on the tiny boat with around 30 other people squeezed
all together it makes me laugh. Even Lonely Planet book said that you can lose
your teeth as it is very bumpy ride…. and oh God it was. We were literally
flying above the water and then smashed into the waves and everyone was
screaming it was scary but at the same time fun, full of adrenaline adventure that lasted what seamed
forever. However we were glad we left dodgy Turbo as someone was shot 3 times
at the ferry terminal just minutes after we have left.
Capuranga on the other hand is beautiful, very laid back wee village, without cars only horses and it has really nice relaxed atmosphere that have more Jamaican feel with its African American community.
