Trekking Torres Del Paine, Patagonia
Trekking through National Park of Torres del Paine (Towers of Pine) was on our TO
DO list from the beginning of this trip and the reason why we are traveling South to North and not the other way around was based around the season in Patagonia. We wanted to do it when it’s still warm. However trekking during the summer doesn’t guarantee great weather because in Patagonia in one day you can expect all four seasons but we were pretty lucky and had pretty stunning 3 days. We decided to do popular and very busy “W” trek than normally takes 4-5 days but we managed to do it in 3 days skipping the last bit. It was spectacular but unfortunately not too cheap because we had to hire camping gear (tent, cooker, pots etc..) plus pay for camping and the entry fees. It is not a big deal but we just got used to that in New Zealand we are pretty spoiled and have free access to National Parks and many awesome treks and of course huts. Here they have some sort of huts but they call them Refugios and they are quite expensive. Anyway it was all worth it and we had a grate time.
