Palomino (1)
Our next stop was lush and exotic Palomino in the department
of La Guajira, which has some fantastic beaches and many trails into the Sierra
Nevada Mountains. We have never heard about this place before partly because it
is not on a gringo trail (not yet!) Therefore Palomino is still left untouched,
very authentic, simple and without mega constructions and resorts. I am pretty
sure that it will change sooner or later and it will probably become the next
Taganga. I am glad we could be here before the big touristy BOOM arrives. We
loved Palomino so much that we decided to stay here for 5 nights. It is always
a wonderful feeling to unpack properly and put clothes in wardrobes and feel a
bit like at home. Without a rush to catch the next bus just cruise around and
fully chill out. So all I did all day long was write in my diary, read the books, swim and just sleep in the hammock.
One day we got ourselves two big tubes and went up the mountains and then tube down the river…
...after nearly 2 hours on the river we ended up all the way at the beach:)
