House and car shopping
Buying a car wasn’t a problem here as they are cheap and there is plenty to choose from. We wanted something slightly bigger so we can travel around South Island and sleep at the back if we had to. I named it ‘blue cod’:) Hopefully I’ll learn how to drive pretty soon but in the meantime being a passenger and looking at the stunning NZ landscapes while Bryan is driving doesn’t sound too bed.
Buying a house it’s a different story. It took us two months to finally get the right place for us. Of course if we would decide to stay in Dunedin for good I’d love to live somewhere at the Otago Peninsula but at this stage we just wanted something close to town and not up on the hills so we can bike and of course close to the beach (5min walking!) It’s exciting stuff buying our first house, getting the key and setting it all up. After years of renting being able to paint the walls, drill the holes was simply the best feeling ever.
