PANAMA

Bienvenidos  a Panama

Today we went for a pretty rough muddy, humid and sweaty jungle walk to…Panama!!!  We didn’t really plan it but when we found out that the border is only 2hrs walk from Capuranga we decided to go there.
We don’t have any official stamps but to cross the border we still had to show our passports at the migration point on the top of the mountain. So yeah we have officially entered Central America. And at the same time we were so close to the Darien Gap the place that is still is unsafe and where Panamericana stops and doesn’t link Central and South America overland.
Funny as we originally planned to travel to USA via Central America because we couldn't find any cheap flights to Los Angeles at the time of looking. That would be crazy and I’m so glad we didn’t do that. All the memories would be only from the bus stops in each of the country, rushed and almost impossible to do with the amount of time we had left. But Central America has been on my list and I’m sure we will do it one day, hopefully on our own yacht.
The nearest village on Panamian side is called La Miel and the beach Playa Blanca apparently amazing turned to be full of garbage tip. So sad to look at it as the location is amazing but so much rubbish makes it a depressing how so many people just don’t care.
