Back in New Zealand

It is soooo bloody hard to leave beautiful tropical summer and fly straight into winter but unfortunately "holidays" are now officially over. Our flight from Tahiti back to New Zealand was smooth, fast and super comfy as we both had few seats each for ourselves to stretch a bit more. At Auckland airport we got picked up by Bryan’s auntie and we stayed with her for a few nights where we had our first so missed while travelling - roast lamb dinner. I couldn't get enough of roast veggies especially kumara! Food wise I think we missed roast dinner the most during our trip.
Auckland was very rainy just as I remember it when we lived there for 6 months in 2006. However it was still nice to go back there after 7 years. On Monday the 18th we flew down south to Christchurch where we stayed with friends and got to enjoy another yummy roast dinner this time wild pork. Next day after 6 hours on the bus we retched our final destination which we left nearly 7 months ago….. Dunedin! Here apart from more family and friends.... roast chicken was waiting for us:) plus some rather nasty cold weather. I ran to the shop to get myself a warm “onesies” to survive the first cold night in a while.
It was really good to catch up with everyone especially to see Bryan’s little niece Masie who was born the day when we left New Zealand and we only managed to see her in the hospital for 15 min before jumping on the bus.
We also had to visit our darling Nusia who now lives in Gore. She is doing well and loves her new owners and home.
