Bogota

I won’t even go through how scary (again) was the bus ride here through the mountains with yet the WORST driver in whole South America. Passing 7 if not more trucks in traffic up high in the cliffs!!! LUNATIC big time!
Anyway we arrived back in the capital of Colombia, Bogota where we originally flew from Spain 3 months ago and started our trip. It actually seems like such a long time as we have done and seen so much, but on the other hand being back here means our journey is soon about to finish. Only Caribbean cost now left to explore and 2 or 3 long bus rides left.

In the meantime though, we have a few days to walk around Bogota. Which feels quite strange with all armed military walking around but the city itself has some kind of quirkiness about itself that I do like. There was more security around the town because while we were on the main square the German president Angela Merkel in town…in this car in fact:We stayed in the hostel in old town Candelaria where there was heaps going own and of course plenty of cool places to hung around drink yummy coffee and eat. It was weird to walk along the street and then stop before the next one because its dangerous to go. There were many places around Bogota like that where we could and where we couldn’t or rather shouldn’t walk.
