Road trip & bush fire

Australia is such a vast country and it’s so bizarre to see the distances between places on the road signs shown in hundreds or thousands of kilometres, crazy! Literally everywhere is so far that it's easier and cheaper to fly. The nearest city to Gladstone is Rockhampton which is 1 hour drive north and 6 hours south is Brisbane. We probably won’t do too many road trips like we did back in New Zealand. Also the landscape is not very diverse, lots of eucalyptus and dry bush. Our first trip was to Rockhampton just for a day.
